Under the direction of Drs. Felton (Tony) Earls and Steve Safren, the fledgling program also made significant progress in bringing Harvard scientists and clinicians together in new ways to address the pandemic. The goals of this program are to (1) promote and strengthen the application of theories and methods adapted from the behavioral and social sciences to HIV prevention research; (2) promote and strengthen the application of theories and methods adopted from the behavioral and social sciences to the treatment and management of AIDS as a chronic disease, and; (3) actively participate in CFAR National Consortium on Behavioral and Social Sciences.
