The second Division of AIDS World AIDS Day Symposium took place on December 3, 2003. "HIV Treatment Expansion in Developing Countries: Critical Questions" included country updates on AIDS/HIV treatment in Botswana, Haiti, South Africa, and Vietnam. The presentations were followed by a panel discussion with representatives of the NIH and WHO. Speakers and panelists included Paul Farmer (Partners in Health), Martin Hirsch (HMS), Eric Krakauer (Vietnam-CDC-Harvard Medical School AIDS Partnership), Daniel Kurtizkes (HMS), Sandra Lehrman (NIH), Shahin Lockman (HSPH), Anthony Mbewu (Medical Research Council, South Africa), Philip Onyebujoh (WHO), William Rodriguez (HMS), Joyce Sackey (Foundation for African Relief), and Bruce Walker (HMS).
